Five photos of beautiful, unpredictable Painted Bunting

Female Painted Bunting.

Male Painted Buntings wear a shimmering coat of blue, green, and red feathers. Females and immatures, however, wear only a single color, a bright green or greenish yellow. Nancy Norman photographed the female above in Brooks County, in central South Texas.
