July 29, 2013, Meadowview, Virginia. I took this photograph with my eyes closed, depending only on my hearing to know I should snap the photo as the bird lighted on the branch about two feet from my chair on the porch. (Trying with my eyes open wide I would delay each time, and the bird would always fly away.)
