Kolob Reservior Road runs north from Virgin, Utah to Cedar City, Utah. It’s about 60 miles in length and climbs from 3000 ft. in Virgin to 8000 ft. just north of Cedar City. Half is paved and half is gravel. After the first snow in the fall it is closed for the winter. It’s just a country road but it cuts right through Zion Nat. Park. At about 6000 ft. you start to see Lewis’ Woodpeckers and large quantities of Mountain Bulebirds. The trees in the last week of Sept. and first week of Oct. are unbelievable.
