Lake Mattamuskeet is the location of Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge. The largest natural lake in North Carolina. It is a major wintering site for waterfowl like Canada Geese, Tundra Swans, Northern Pintails, Green-winged Teal, Forster’s Terns, and Swamp Sparrows. The lake is located in eastern North Carolina.
