I photographed this Blue-footed Booby – a rare species for California – by Anacapa Island (one of the California Channel Islands) on a pelagic trip (from the boat) departing from Ventura Harbor, California on October 12, 2013 in the morning. The GPS-coordinates of the spot from which I made this capture are: Lat: 34.016944 Lng: -119.359444 at 8:17 AM. We saw three Blue-footed Boobies on the Island between 8:10 – 8:25 AM.
I hand-held a Canon7D camera and a Canon 100-400mm lens.
