This striking, incredibly graceful Swallow-tailed Kite (Elanoides forficatus) took my breath away as the bird swooped over a field catching and eating insects on the wing. I selected the rarities gallery for this bird because this is the first time in many years that we have seen this bird in Lee County, Alabama.
