The image provides a rare view as the Barn Swallow quickly skims a still pond eyeing his next bite to eat. Look carefully and you will see the bug and its reflection a millisecond away. Anyone who has watched swallows swooping and darting about knows it’s impossible to see this sort of action with the naked eye. My Canon 7D was set at 1/2000 @f/4 200ISO. Simply followed bird as it approached the water from about 10′ above the water and shot a series of pictures.
