i just started getting into photography last october. i had been looking to bag a good shot of a kingfisher since the beginning of spring. i have been frequenting Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge in hopes of attaining my goal. As i pulled in one day, 2 wonderful ladies who were walking told me that the kingfishers were rather active that day. I picked up my pace to the spot they suggested. once there, they made their presence known. it wasnt long before they flew close by and land on a branch and let me take numerous shots, including this one. i was elated that day to get home and look at them.
