Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in southeastern Oregon is a rare area west of the Mississippi that is a breeding ground for Bobolinks, and the particular part of the refuge that they frequent is near Frenchglen just north of the “P Ranch”. They’re hard to spot and they tend to hide in the tall grass, but 3 were out and about when I was there in the middle of July. Taken with the Canon 7D and 100-400 lens, ISO 200, f10 @ 500 sec.
