I spotted a single pair of Cattle Egrets in a field in Southern Illinois. It was obvious by their behavior which was the male & which was the female. (He was in pursuit of her). A unique opportunity as not only were they in full breeding plumage, but his beak was in full color (happens right before pairing up). Taken at the Union Co.
