Location: St Augustine Alligator Farm, St Augustine, FL
Normally not a particularly striking bird, as this image shows in breeding plumage, the crest, breast, and back become gold or buff-colored while the legs and bill transition from their normal yellow color to an orange color. The bird is native to Africa but found its way to South America in the late 1800s and then to North America in the mid-1900s.
