I took this photo at the Broad River Diversion Dam in Columbia, South Carolina. This is an early spring photo of a young Great Blue Heron catching some small shad. It took me a little over 30 minutes of getting closer to this young heron to get this shot. Shortly afterwards, a man walked right up behind me, then began to walk right up to the heron and scared the bird away. He then looked at me and said, “Sorry.”
