Green Heron and Mallard

This was taken in a pond on the property of Creekside Church in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. It was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T3 with a 250mm lens. I noticed the Green Heron on the left side of the pond and then took pictures of it as it flew to the dead tree in the centre of the pond. It was only after it had landed that I noticed there was a Mallard duck there already. She didn’t stick around long after the arrival of the Green Heron. The Green Heron hung out on these dead branches for quite awhile, bending down to grab fish out of the pond. It was quite the blessing for me to see the antics of this bird.
