This juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk was photographed in Everglades National Park, Florida. If you look at the breast feathers you can see some of the mature feather starting to grow in. The guy was perched in a tree in the park and luckily we had a bright overcast day otherwise this would have proved to been a difficult shot. I was fortunate on this one to get straight eye contact.
