I was excited to see my first Scarlet Tanager this May or so I thought, and thrilled I was able to get a few photos of it.
What I hadn’t realized was a yellow bird with brownish, green wings I had taken photos of three consecutive years and unable to identify was actually the female Scarlett Tanager and until I photographed the male this year hadn’t made the connection.
Taken at Swan Lake Markham, Ontario, Canada with a Canon T2i camera and Canon 4.5-5.6 100-400mm telephoto lens.
