One of the few wide eyed Snowy Owl shots I got from Washington. These Snowy Owls spend much of the daylight hours resting with their eyes either totally closed or partially open. This particular photo was taken shortly after sunrise one morning, hence the wide eyed and alert look. In my experience there, it was only in the early morning hours and late evening when I found Snowy Owl looks like this. I got down to eye level with this Snowy to wash out the background grasses and give a more intimate view of this owl.
