In the suburbs of Mumbai, I recently saw was a Brahminy Kite in a beautiful birdwatching site called Nhava Shiva. The kite is an attractive bird similar looks to the American bald eagle, but with a chestnut plumage. It has white head and breast that are faintly streaked and black wing tips. It is best sighted at inland and coastal waters. Its food is mainly stranded fish, frogs, insects, lizards, mudskippers, and small snakes. The Brahminy Kite was formerly known as red-backed sea-eagle in Australia.
